Sanctum is liquid staking infrastructure on Solana that enables instant conversions between any liquid staking tokens (LSTs). It operates the LST router, the Infinity pool, and validator LST creation tools.

Key components

ComponentDescription
LST RouterRoutes conversions between any LSTs (mSOL → jitoSOL, etc.)
Infinity PoolMulti-LST liquidity pool supporting all Sanctum-listed LSTs
Reserve PoolSOL reserve for instant unstaking
Validator LSTsTools for validators to create their own LSTs

How the router works

The Sanctum router finds the optimal path to convert between any two LSTs:

mSOL → [Route: mSOL → SOL → jitoSOL] → jitoSOL
bSOL → [Route: bSOL → Infinity Pool → mSOL] → mSOL

Possible routes include:

  1. Direct stake/unstake through the LST program
  2. Swap through the Infinity pool
  3. Instant unstake through the reserve pool and re-stake

Infinity pool

The Infinity pool holds multiple LSTs and SOL, enabling:

  • Instant swaps between any listed LSTs
  • Single-sided deposits of any LST
  • Earning yield from all deposited LSTs simultaneously

The pool token (INF) represents a share of the diversified LST basket.

Supported LSTs

Sanctum supports a wide range of LSTs including:

LSTProvider
mSOLMarinade
jitoSOLJito
bSOLSolBlaze
LSTLiquid Staking Token (Marinade native)
INFSanctum Infinity pool token

Plus dozens of validator-specific LSTs created through Sanctum’s infrastructure.

FAQ

What is the advantage of using Sanctum over swapping LSTs on a DEX? Sanctum routes conversions optimally, often achieving better rates than DEX swaps by using direct staking/unstaking paths. It also supports LST pairs that may not have direct DEX liquidity.

What is INF? INF is the Sanctum Infinity pool token. It represents a share of a diversified basket of LSTs. Holding INF earns blended staking yield from all LSTs in the pool.

Can any validator create an LST through Sanctum? Yes. Sanctum provides tools for validators to launch their own liquid staking token, which is backed by stake delegated to that validator and instantly convertible to other LSTs through the router.
