voteSubscribeis an unstable method. It may not be available on all providers.- Vote transactions account for the majority of all Solana transactions. This subscription generates extremely high message volume — hundreds of messages per second.
- This method is intended for validators and infrastructure monitoring, not general application use.
FAQ
How much data does voteSubscribe produce? Validators submit votes every slot (~400ms), and there are ~1,500+ active validators. Expect hundreds to thousands of messages per second. This is not suitable for browser-based applications.
Can I filter votes by validator?
No. voteSubscribe has no filter parameters. To track a specific validator, filter client-side by votePubkey.
Why would I use this instead of getVoteAccounts?
getVoteAccounts returns a snapshot of vote account state. voteSubscribe gives real-time visibility into vote activity as it happens — useful for monitoring consensus health and validator behavior.
