Why do epoch boundaries matter for staking? Staking state changes (delegation, deactivation, reward distribution) only take effect at epoch boundaries. If you delegate stake mid-epoch, it activates at the start of the next epoch.
How accurate is the countdown? The countdown estimates time based on the target 400ms slot time. Actual slot times vary, so the real epoch boundary may arrive slightly earlier or later than estimated.
How many epochs per year? Approximately 182 epochs per year at the target epoch duration of ~2 days. The actual number varies slightly based on network slot times.
